Woman injured after car crashes into Dollar Tree store

On Behalf of | Feb 24, 2017 | Car Accidents, Firm News |

A woman was injured while inside a Dollar Tree store in Virginia Beach. However, this was not a slip-and-fall related injury. This woman was hit by a car. Apparently, a little after 1 p.m. on a recent Thursday, a motor vehicle smashed through the Dollar Tree store’s front window and caused the woman’s injuries.

Virginia Beach Fire claims that the woman who was operating the vehicle didn’t suffer any injuries. However, a woman inside the Dollar Tree needed to go to the hospital for the injuries she suffered in the incident. Fortunately, the injuries were minor and medical personnel expected that she would recover.

As for the front of the Dollar Tree store, massive damage was suffered by the front of the location. Some merchandise was also destroyed in the crash. Soon after the incident, medics arrived on scene to tend to the crash site. They ensured that no liquids leaked from the vehicle or caused a fire. They also tended to the injured woman.

As of last reports, the accident was still under investigation. It is unknown if alcohol or substances may have played a role in causing the collision. Perhaps further investigation will reveal the exact cause of the crash.

Virginia Beach residents who get hurt by a negligent or unlawful motor vehicle driver due to no fault of their own may have the ability to pursue financial claims for justice and restitution after an injurious car accident. Especially, if a pedestrian was merely shopping in a department store when injured by a car that burst through the side of the building, the pedestrian may have a strong case for financial compensation.
