Motorcyclist requires hospital care after serious accident

Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to getting hurt in a motor vehicle collision. This is why motorcyclists should wear a helmet and other safety gear at all times. However, even with the most cutting edge safety equipment, the simple fact that motorcyclists are exposed to the open air in a collision means that they are always at risk of catastrophic and/or fatal injuries in even the most basic crashes.

In one recent Virginia Beach motorcyclist collision, the motorcyclist required hospital care following a catastrophic accident. The incident happened in Virginia Beach last Wednesday, and ambulances were called to the crash site just prior to 5 p.m.

According to police investigators, the collision happened when a 2014 Volkswagen pulled out in front of the motorcyclist. The Volkswagen driver was attempting to cross traffic while making a left turn. Instead of turning responsibly, though, the Volkswagen pulled out directly into the path of the motorcyclist.

Miraculously, the motorcyclist survived the collision. Emergency responders rushed the biker to the hospital to receive care for critical injuries. As of last reports, the injured biker was still in critical condition.

As a result of the accident, two important roadways were shut down in the middle of rush hour as police investigated the scene and tried to determine who was at fault. At this time, charges are still pending relating to the crash.

Were you or a family member hurt in a motorcycle crash? Regardless whose fault the incident appears to have been, it may behoove you to investigate the details of the accident further to determine if a viable claim for personal injury damages may exist.
